Areya is 15 years old and really passionate about dance, she would like to make a career of dancing and performing. She hopes to attend tertiary dance school when she is older and is loving the opportunity to do Tui dance classes with d.c.m during the week.

This past year Areya has grown hugely in confidence and dance skills. Her dancing classes with d.c.m to date have included Ballet, Contemporary dance, Hip hop, Choreography (following teacher’s choreography as well as creating her own dance pieces individually and as duets with friends), Dance Culture as well as Mask and Improvisation. She was a key part of d.c.m’s end of year performance and showcased beautifully all she had learnt at the show. She has also been involved in the Takaka’s Matariki light festival, Golden Bay A & P Show, Nelson’s lantern festival and takes part in opportunities to further her learning and experience in dance whenever she can.

Areya shows great commitment to dance and she is excited to deepen her learning and experience further this year with d.c.m. With your generous financial support, together we can help Areya to continue Tui dance classes and follow her dreams to take dance to the next level.
